Used vehicles will keep coming at Mercedes

Mercedes-Benz USA vowed to keep dealers well-stocked with used cars as the market for new vehicles struggles through 2009. Mercedes dealers sold about 90,000 pre-owned vehicles in 2008, a 100 percent increase over 2007, dealers were told in the make meeting. "They really got behind used cars last year, and they're going to keep it up this year," the chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Board, Joe Agresti, of Baton Rouge, La., said after the meeting. But factory executives told dealers at the meeting that the outlook for the new-car market remains strong, some retailers said.
