Afew weeks ago, AMI sent a press release to the trades that explained how the industry was impacted by global supply chain pressures, labor shortages, disease, and increased costs at this time: "Post-Pandemic" or "Reopening 2.0." In that release, we included a line from one of our members, who expressed to us that he hadn't seen things this bad in more than 30 years.I know this isn't starting out to be an uplifting holiday message, but stay with me.I was recently looking back at some old Mushroom News issues—particularly December 2001, just a few months after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Several times, various authors reference the uncertainty, upheaval, and new challenges that were unimaginable at the time.
