Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has provided the operator of the 60.2K-b/d plant, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd. (NRL), 200 acres (809K m~2) of land on a long-term lease basis for a crude terminal The planned facility will allow NRL to import crude through the port to supply feedstock for its refinery, which will have its capacity increased from 3MM mt/y (60.2K b/d) to 9MM mt/y (181K b/d). The company has previously signed an MoU with Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) and the PPT for imports through the port. NRL's 22 trillion-rupee ($310B) expansion of the Numaligarh refinery will add a IMM-mt/y (21Kb/d) pipeline that will allow 6MM mt/y (120K b/d) of crude imports entering the Paradip Port to be transported to the plant. IOC will provide its spare Single Point Mooring capacity at Paradip while PPT will provide land to install storage tanks and a pump house.
