Saarstahl prepares to move ahead on DRI, EAF conversion

Europe - Saarstahl AG leaders are greenlighting a EUR3.5 billion plan to build two electric arc furnaces (EAFs) and a direct reduction plant at sites in Germany, the company has said. Under the plan, an EAF will be installed at the Volklingen site and an EAF and a direct reduced iron plant will be built at the Dillinger plant site.
