BASF to expand China battery materials capacity

German chemicals producer BASF, through its joint venture, BASF Shanshan Battery Material (BSBM) with Chinese lithium- ion battery cathode materials producer Ningbo Shanshan, will expand its battery materials operations to achieve a capacity of 100,000 t/yr for cathode active materials, it said in a state- ment on 14 June.
