摘要

? 2023 Elsevier B.V.The influence of hydrogen on the phase transformation, deformation twins, and dislocation density of metastable stainless steel 304 was investigated in this work. Hydrogen charging resulted in the formation of large amount ?-martensite, great density of deformation twins, and high dislocation density, compared with an uncharged state at the same plastic deformation. These led to a considerable loss of ductility by 60 in metastable austenitic stainless steel under the presence of hydrogen. ?-martensite and twins were preferred site for crack initiation and propagation, resulting in the increase of hydrogen embrittlement (HE) susceptibility.
