Installing circadian lighting in a care home led to improvements in behaviour and sleep patterns for residents, a research project has tentatively concluded, but, for staff, took some getting used to. July's Lighting Journal illustrated very clearly how lighting healthcare settings effectively, sensitively and sympathetically is not straightforward - particularly within hospitals - even with the added flexibility and control now available through LED.
