Dutch Akzo’s cost savings offset poor LatAm, oil and gas - Fitch

LONDON (ICIS)--Dutch paints and coatings producer AkzoNobel has been able to offset weaknesses in Latin America and the oil and gas markets with cost savings measures which have allowed a “sound capital structure,” the US credit rating agency Fitch said on Tuesday. However, Fitch warned the high exposure of the paints and coatings major to the “fragile” European construction market will make it hard to increase selling prices.
