PETROBRAS has received a flurry of commercial proposals in a tender aimed at contracting several remotely operated vehicle support (RSV) vessels to assist in operations off the Brazilian coast. The state-controlled company has split the RSV tender into eight lots, with four (A, B, C and D) for Brazilian-flagged vessels, which have priority under domestic contracting legislation, and four (E, F, G and H) for foreign-flagged units. Petrobras is seeking RSVs for periods of three years and - depending on the number of vessels to be contracted - the tender can generate various multi-million-dollar charters. Only three contractors submitted offers in the tender.
