European caustic spot price firms on tighter market

LONDON (ICIS)--European caustic soda spot prices were firmer this week on the back of tighter markets in both northwest Europe (NWE) and the Mediterranean, according to market sources on Friday. Last week, FOB (free on board) spot prices were assessed at $320-340/dmt (dry metric tonne) FOB NWE and $315-340/dmt FOB for the Mediterranean, with prices softer compared to early-to-mid July as a result of a weaker market in Turkey.
