This new CNC abrasive saw uses either a .008" or .016" diameter diamond coated wire to abrade the graphite electrode material into its final shape. With cutting capability up to 600X × 400Y × 500 mm thick, it can handle very large graphite workpieces. Dust collection is performed by either vacuum as shown with the optional dust cover, or with the Dust Free system which utilizes EDM Oil to collect the dust into a standard, easily replaceable paper Sinker EDM filter. The reusable diamond plated wire has a life of approximately 40-80 hours depending on the workpiece thickness and hardness. In addition to graphite, most any other non-EDM'able materials such as silicone, ceramics, even granite are also machinable.
