The susceptibility of coal to oxidation with stimulation by low concentrations of ozone (similar to 10 mg/L) is considered. The influence of the coal's metamorphic stage and its specific surface on its oxidation rate is assessed. For coal with a developed surface (low-metamorphic long-flame coal and high-metamorphic lean coal), the rate of ozone absorption and the degree of oxidation of the organic matter are greater.
