Statoil, BP, Total win deepwater blocks off Mexico

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Mexico awarded Norway's Statoil a majority of blocks in the Saline basin in the deepwater exploration tender, the company announced on Monday. Mexico awarded licenses in a round of competitive bidding for 10 deepwater blocks in total, four of which are in the Perdido area with the remaining six in the Saline basin.
