Palletisers are used to palletise products and/or bundles on a carrier, e.g. on a pallet. During the palletising process, the carrier is on a hoist cart with roller or belt conveyor underneath the layer stacking table and can be driven vertically by means of the drive train of the hoist cart composed of drive shaft, gear unit, motor and traction element (e.g. chains). The layer stacking table is composed of two parts, which can assume an open or a closed position. If the layer stacking table is in closed position, a layer composed of products and/or bundles is formed on it. Once the layer is completed, the two parts of the layer stacking table move apart (open position of the layer stacking table) and the layer is forwarded to the carrier or to the layers already palletised on it.
