French Air Liquide to build gases plant for China’s MPCC

LONDON (ICIS)--Air Liquide is to invest around ?40m in developing an air separation unit (ASU) to supply oxygen and nitrogen to its Chinese joint venture with energy major Sinopec subsidiary Maoming Petrochemical (MPCC), the French industrial gases major said on Tuesday. Expected to start up in the second quarter of 2017, the ASU will have a capacity of 850 tonnes/day of oxygen and will supply MPCC’s ethylene oxide plant in Maoming, in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.
