摘要

The Gram–Charlier distribution of sea slopes is currently the most used. Restrictions of its use in simulation of light reflection from the sea surface are analyzed. It is shown that a Gram–Charlier distribution does not allow optical imaging throughout the total range of sounding angles by optical scanners mounted on low-orbit spacecraft. Empirical relations between statistical moments of sea slopes and their angles are derived.
