SINGAPORE(ICIS)--Asian import discussions climbed higher this week as off ers surged,tracking aferocious rally early week in the domestic China market.Domestic butadiene(BD)ex-tank prices in east China hit yuan(CNY)8,450/tonne on 4 September,alevel not seen since May,and even though these eased subsequently to an average of CNY8,250/tonneon 7 September this was still at least CNY500/tonne higher than at the end of August,ICIS data shows.This bolstered regional sellers’confidence that they have room to elevate off ers on US dollardenominated import materials to keep pace with yuan strength.This week,northeast Asia-origin materials were indicated at no less than $1,000/tonne,on a FOB(free-on-board)basis.This would be about the equivalent of the mid-to-high $1,000s/tonne on a CFR(cost-and freight)northeast Asia basis,market sources said.
