China’s Jiangsu Sopo cuts etac output to 40% on ethanol shortage

MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Chinese producer Jiangsu Sopo Chemical is decreasing the run rate at its ethyl acetate (etac) plant following a drawdown in its inventory of raw material ethanol, a company source said on Wednesday. The plant, at Zhenjiang in Jiangsu province, has a capacity to produce 500,000 tonnes/year of etac.
