China domestic soda ash firms on tighter supply, plant outage

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s domestic soda ash prices rose week-on-week on tightened supply after an unplanned outage of the country’s largest plant on 1 February, market sources said on Wednesday. Shandong Haihua on 1 February shut its 3m tonne/year soda ash plant at Weifang, Shandong province due to leakage issues, a company official said, adding that the plant was operating at 90-95% prior to the outage.
