Japan's March caustic soda production up 6.8% year on year

TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s production of caustic soda increased by 6.8% year on year to 328,177 tonnes in March, official industry data showed on Monday. Domestic demand for caustic soda rose by 4.9% to 285,843 tonnes from the same period a year earlier, according to the Japan Soda Industry Association (JSIA). Exports, however, declined by 26% year on year to 70,186 tonnes, the association said.
