SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s economy expanded by 4.2% in the first quarter of 2016, decelerating from the 4.5% growth in the preceding quarter, marking its slowest growth since the third quarter of 2009, official data showed on Friday. On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted, the economy posted a 1.0% growth in January-March 2016, down from the 1.2% expansion in the preceding quarter.
