The scaling up of carbon markets is vital to the growth of clean cooking projects, with 2.3 billion people still reliant on dirty fuels to prepare meals, International Energy Agency said in a report July 26. In its A Vision for Clean Cooking Access for All report, the IEA called for an investment of $8 billion to reach a 2030 target of clean cooking access globally, while highlighting the growing role of carbon credits in this sector.
