Some Asian PET producers think near-term market outlook is stable

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--The near-term Asia polyethylene terephthalate (PET) market outlook is stable, some producers said on Friday. It is the typical peak demand season, hence overcapacity PET market prices will be supported for a few months, market sources said. It is unlikely for prices to have big fluctuations, market participants added. They also said it will be difficult for prices to increase by a big jump amid crude volatility. Sources added upstream paraxylene (PX) supply seems tight, hence it will be unlikely for prices to drop significantly.
