Russian gas producer Novatek has launched pilot production of gas condensate at the Yevo-Yakhinsky cluster in the Yamal-Nenets region of Northern Russia, the company said in a statement May 16. The company had said it is considering some changes to its development plans after sanctions were enforced on Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine. The restrictions are raising concerns over the viability of Russian energy projects, with Western producers announcing plans to exit the Russian market and some traditional key buyers turning away from Russian imports. Energy producers also face potential issues securing financing, equipment and technology.
