LONDON (ICIS)--European stocks opened trading on Monday with gains, unaffected by the resignation of the Italian Prime Minister (PM) following the referendum result rejecting his constitutional reform proposals on Sunday. Italian voters rejected Matteo Renzi's proposals by 59.1% in a result which according to analysts could cause the country's banking sector to enter a period of instability and lead to an economic downturn.
