EU PX imports fall in Oct 2016 versus Oct 2015 - Eurostat

LONDON (ICIS)--Imports of paraxylene (PX) fell by around 60% in October 2016 compared to the same month in 2015, according to the latest data from Eurostat this week. However, volumes were said to be relatively normal, with the high change versus last year coming on the back of unusually high volumes arriving in October 2015. This was attributed to the temporary production out of Artlant’s PTA plant in Sines, Portugal, which was short-lived as the plant closed again mid-November.
