April 2022 import volume was 227,334 tons in this product sector which is about 15 above the license total published last month. The May licenses indicate a further drop to 209,500 tons. The June forecast, given 9 of 22 days, indicates an increase in volume to 279,768 tons. The top import item for the month of April 2022 was Casing, ERW, Carbon, PE, at 54,287 tons. The price was $1,534/ton, down $136/ton. Volume is down from last month a bit and price as well. Seems the premium, as in low price premium, is pretty high to induce the sales volume which is off 24 in imports.
