Urological applications of highhyphen;intensity focused ultrasound

摘要

High-intensity focused ultrasound therapy is a surgical technique for in-depth tissue ablation using the emissions of a tightly focused, high-energy ultrasound beam. The first urological clinical trials were initiated in 1992 and, since that time, high-intensity focused ultrasound is evaluated as a minimally invasive treatment modality for benign prostatic hyperplasia and localized prostate cancer.
