UK local council grants IGas licence for shale gas exploration

LONDON (ICIS)--England’s Nottingham County Council has granted planning consent to energy firm Island Gas (IGas) to develop a hydrocarbon wellsite and drill up to two exploratory wells in Misson Springs, near Doncaster, the company said on Tuesday. The local council confirmed in its Twitter feed the licence granting, adding 37 “planning conditions and a legal agreement” had been imposed on the company as a condition to get the approval.
