EuroChem Q1 profit, EBITDA decline amid slightly higher sales

LONDON (ICIS)--EuroChem posted a drop in gross profit and earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in the first quarter despite higher nitrogen and phosphates sales, the Russian fertilizer producer said on Tuesday. EBITDA dropped 17% to $384m compared to $461m in the same period in 2015, and gross profit declined 12% to $517m from $585m which the company attributed to lower fertilizer and iron ore prices.
