The UK government is to introduce regulations requiring all health and social care staff in England with face-to-face contact with patients/service users to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of deployment. The announcement follows a public consultation that attracted 34,929 responses, almost two-thirds of which (65) did not support the proposal. Similar legislation, which came into force on 11 November 2021, already requires all workers in adult care homes in England to be fully vaccinated against the virus.
