Pilbara apprenticeships partnership

A 1.1 million dollars partnership between BHP Billiton Iron Ore and the Australian Technical College (Pilbara) will see Indigenous apprentices employed by local businesses to complete trade qualifications. The program will form part of the company's Investment in Indigenous Relationships Strategy. Through the program, the company has engaged the Australian Technical College (Pilbara) to identify apprentices to be employed by local contractors, and provide ongoing mentoring and support for the apprentices. Ten Indigenous people each year, for four years, will be employed as apprentices within local businesses.
