The European Commission's packaging and packaging waste regulation (PPWR) introduced a ban on single-use packaging for dine-in restaurants from 1 January 2030 onward, and the rules include targets to increase reusable packaging use for take-aways in two steps: 10 by 2030 and 40 by 2040.
