Method of calculating the optical transfer function for astigmatism and defocusing

This paper proposes a method for calculating the optical transfer function for astigmatism and defocusing with central screening of the pupil, on the basis of an appropriate approximation of the contours of the pupil and the screen, and calculating the integrals in analytical form. The error of the calculations does not exceed 1.5 * 10~(-4). The method can be used, for example, to metrologically evaluate application programs for computing this characteristic or when mathematically modelling an image.
