Lindsay Gilligan, the 14th Chief Government Geologist and the Director of the Geological Survey of New South Wales, a branch of the Department of Primary Industries, is a living legend. A geology graduate from the University of New South Wales, Gilligan also holds a master of Applied Science and Master of Business Administration degrees. Gilligan has made an exceptional and extended contribution to the knowledge and understanding of the geology and mineral resource potential of NSW. Based in Maitland, Gilligan leads a team of geoscientists and other specialists in the Geological Survey.
