An order from Ulan Coal Mines Ltd is the latest mining industry success for an Australian manufacturer of vertical carousel storage systems, Vertical Carousels of Australia Pty Ltd (stand 244). Ulan will be using the space-saving vertical system as part of a new maintenance store, which combines previously separate operations for the open cut and underground operations. Roger Manning from VGA says that the interest from mining companies in vertical carousels is not particularly related to the space savings they offer, but the move to open stores operating 24-hours a day.
