The Opec+ group produced 690,000 b/d below its collective quota in October, at a time when consuming countries have been appealing for more crude. The group increased its overall crude output by only 230,000 b/d on the month to 36.85mn b/d in October, after having agreed to raise production by 400,000 b/d. This meant that the shortfall relative to its combined quota wid- ened by 170,000 b/d from September. Opec countries in particular struggled to bring back supplies, led by falls in production from west African members.
