July 2021 imports were 10,438 tons which was just 300 tons below the license number from last month. August licenses are higher at 13,348 tons. The September forecast, with 8 of 21 days counted, suggests higher import levels still with 17,363 tons. With higher prices in the market and growing demand, the trend in stainless remains up. We are not sure we will see 17,000 tons, but it does indicate a strong month. The estimate is based on very early returns.
