摘要

There is much evidence to suggest that incorporating wood into our built environment can be hugely beneficial to our wellbeing, emotions and productivity. Andy Leitch, Director of Wood for Good, highlights the science behind why humans feel good in nature, near trees, and surrounded by wood products. It is well documented that being in nature can benefit our health and wellbeing and many realised the importance of connecting with nature during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they were confined to their homes and local area.Just over 40 of those surveyed by Natural England in May 2020 noticed that nature, wildlife, and visiting local green and natural spaces had become more important than ever to their wellbeing since the coronavirus restrictions began.
