摘要

The development of antibodies that have been designed with additional functionality compared with 'naked' molecules, particularly bispecific antibodies (BsAbs), has been an active area of research for the past two decades, Research has focused on the generation of various forms and/or fragments of BsAbs for cancer therapy through the mechanism of redirected cytotoxicity. The idea of targeting two molecules with a single multifunctional biological compound has extended beyond the conventional bispecific concept for tumor killing via redirected toxicity, and the blocking of multiple disease mediators is now recognized as both critical and more efficacious than the inhibition of only one target in a complex disease state.
