Canada’s heavy WCS discount to WTI widest in 21 months

Canada’s heavy Western Canadian Select blend continued to weaken sharply Nov. 5, hitting a 21-month low relative to NYMEX WTI. SP Global Platts assessed WCS at Hardisty, Alberta, at WTI CMA minus $21.60/b after it was last heard to trade there before the deadline. This is the weakest WCS has been since January 27, 2020. WCS also weakened on the USGC, dropping $1.30/b to minus $9.40/b.
