Spot contracts in ERCOT shot up dramatically during Aug. 16 trading onthe Intercontinental Exchange as high temperatures in Dallas remainedin the triple digits before the arrival of a weak cold front and belownormaltemperatures.North Hub day-ahead on-peak jumped about $116.50 to price near$303.75/MWh, and the real-time peak contract surged about $105 toabout $305.25/MWh for Aug. 17 delivery.
