Male of Danielithosia pyralina (Rothschild, 1912) comb. nov., an endemic moth species from Sumbawa and Flores (Lepidoptera: Erebidae: Arctiinae)

The genus Danielithosia Dubatolov Kishida, 2012 was described for a group of Eilema-like lichen moths formerly classified within the genus Tigrioides Butler, 1877 (Dubatolov et al. 2012). This genus comprises 13 species (Dubatolov 2013; Bayarsaikhan et al. 2015, 2017). Ilema pyralina Rothschild, 1912 was described from Sumbawa Island, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia based on a single female specimen (Rothschild 1912). This species was later transferred to the genus Tigrioides Butler, 1877 (Hampson 1914). Here, we describe the newly discovered male of this species and, based on the morphology of the male genitalia, we transfer it to the genus Danielithosia Dubatolov Kishida, 2012.
