Designed and planned to be built in Australia. That is the story of the new Bucyrus 39R II diesel hydraulic blast hole drill currently being developed by Bucyrus (Australia). Bucyrus drills have been to date designed and imported from the US. However; the low Australia dollar has given the local operation the chance to show what it can do on the local and international marketplace. It is hoped, says sales and marketing manager Stephen Brown, that the drill will be not only sold in Australia but also exported to such territories as Asia, Europe and South America.
