2020 should be a disappointing year for tea production especially in North India. Despite a marginal increase in North Indian tea output in November, the country's overall production in the 11 months has been trailing behind last year due to massive losses in earlier months."Tea Board has now released the data for November which shows that North Indian output rose by 9.84 million kg (mkg) to reach 127.58 mkg while South Indian output fell by 0.34 mkg to dip to 21.41 mkg. Overall, the country's output in November rose to 149 mkg from 139.39 mkg in November 2019", Rajesh Gupta, Compiler of annual 'Global Tea Digest'told me.
