I recently had the pleasure of attending the launch of the new 3D Central facility hosted by Objective3D in Carrum Downs. During the presentations and discussions, I was a little surprised to hear 3D printing referred to on a number of occasions as the 'next industrial revolution'. It's not that I am sceptical as to the potential of 3D printing - far from it. It is more that I am amazed that so many people believe this to be a technology that has somehow appeared out of nowhere to change the world of manufacturing as we know it.
