Conversion of process from double sulphitation to DRP+IER along with diversion of B-heavy molasses

The Seksaria Biswan Sugar Factory Limited took up conversion of sugar process from Double Sulphitation to Defco Remelt Phophotation with Ion Exchange. The B-Heavy molasses diverted to Distillery for Ethanol production. Due to B- Heavy molasses diversion, factory utilized the surplus equipment like C-Pan, C-Crystalliser, C-1 Pan, C C1 Continuous Machines etc. for handling the raw massecuite. The A massecuite Pans Centrifugals are utilized for refined massecuite with some modifications. As a result of this no major additional capital expenditure was made. The plant produced good quality refined sugar of 30-35 IU consistently. We have discussed the same in this article.
