After a COVID-imposed hiatus, the four-day Bournemouth Air Festival returned with fine weather and a highly entertaining flying display. Richard Clarke was our man on the ground, enjoying an unrivalled view of proceedings against the magnificent backdrop of Bournemouth Bay. The Festival is about more than just air displays, with many other attractions, including the unique 'Night Air' show when a selection of the aircraft performs spectacular pyrotechnic demonstrations enhanced by the gathering dusk. The evenings culminate with an impressive fireworks display. There is also significant support for the Air Festival from the armed forces with the RAF, Navy and Army each having their own villages on the seafront to promote their activities to the public.
