It is with deep sadness that I write about the passing of my colleague and friend, Hillary Judd, whom I had the privilege to work alongside for the past seven years. After graduating from Aston University in 1977, Hillary had a varied, distinguished and successful career within the scientific and pharmacy professions, ranging from scientific roles with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and 17 years with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, as well as being rapidly promoted to principal pharmaceutical officer at the British Pharmacopoeia. Her attention to detail, encyclopaedic knowledge and ability to debate with humour and intelligence made her an engaging and respected colleague wherever she worked.
