Despite a 3 year-on-year decline in sales in Dec, global sales of plug-in EVs (PEVs) were higher on the year at 2.21MM units sold. However, the Chinese market has bristled due to the rollback of subsidies, which a report from SP Global Platts Analytics believes caused a 18 on-year drop in sales in Dec. This year, China will not cut subsidies as previously planned. The report added that sales in the US fell 26 compared to the same period in 2018 in 4Q 2019.
